Edward J. Keuer, M.D. attended the University of Illinois and received a B.A. degree, with honors, in 1969. He graduated with his M.D. degree in 1974 from Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine and then completed two successive residency training programs in Pediatrics and in Dermatology at the University of Illinois Hospital. He was board certified in these two specialties after completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology. Dr. Keuer has been teaching in the departments of Pediatrics and Dermatology at Loyola Medical School since 1979, and continues to conduct a weekly clinic in Loyola's Outpatient Clinic with medical students and residents. He also serves as a consultant in Pediatric Dermatology at the medical school, and regularly teaches students and residents in our OakBrook Terrace office. In 2004 the first specialty examination in Pediatric Dermatology was given – Dr. Keuer took and passed this exam as well.

Primary Areas of Expertise
Dr. Keuer's area of specialty training is in Pediatric Dermatology, though he has always enjoyed caring for patients of all ages. Atopic dermatitis, congenital skin lesions, psoriasis, and skin cancers are areas in which he is particularly interested. He also has an interest in medical photography and makes frequent use of this skill in his practice. In recent years he pursued additional training in the treatment of rosacea and photodamage with a Vasculight SR IPL/laser system.


Virginia T. Allen, M.D. attended Loyola University of Chicago and received a B.S. degree with Honors in 1983. She graduated with her M.D. degree in 1988 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center, she completed her Dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. There she served as chief resident in Dermatology, and joined Edward J. Keuer, M.D. in private practice. Since that time, she has served a a consultant in Dermatology at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital , and is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois . She enjoys teaching medical students and residents in her private practice setting.

Primary Areas of Expertise
Dr. Allen's areas of interest include pediatric and adult dermatology, as well as cosmetic dermatology. She is trained in and performs intense pulsed light laser therapy, sclerotherapy, Botox injections, chemical peels, and injection of cosmetic dermal fillers, including Restylane. She enjoys caring for patients of all age groups and performs total skin examinations regularly, screening for skin cancers and melanoma.


Julie Jourdan, PA-C (Certified Physician Assistant), has a Masters of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in Downers Grove , IL . Before beginning her education as a PA, she received an undergraduate degree in both Biology and Spanish from Elmhurst College . She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Elmhurst College in 2001.

Julie is a member of the following professional organizations: AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants) and IAPA (Illinois Association of Physician Assistants). She is fluent in Spanish, and has studied abroad in Spain , Ecuador , and in the Dominican Republic where she has worked in medical missions.

Julie joined the office in January 2009.


Dana has been running the office since 2005 and has recently moved in to management full-time. Dana is excited to make the transition from esthetician to office administration and spend more time overseeing other aspects of the practice.  Please contact Dana with any billing questions, patient concerns, questions or comments you may have. As a licensed cosmetologist and esthetician, Cassi performs microdermabrasion, chemical peels and skin care masques, and also provides product consultation to determine what is best for your skin.

She has been in the skin, hair and nail industry for over 17 years. She received her cosmetology license in 1992 and returned to school for more in-depth knowledge and obtained her esthetics license in 2006. 

 


Our staff consists of patient service representatives: Cecylia, Karen, Dina, and Michele. They are happy to assist you with anything you may need during your visit to our office and when contacting us from home.
