HAIR REMOVAL &
LASER SKIN TREATMENTS
Our practice is now pleased to offer the High
Speed LightSheer DUET for permanent hair reduction
with exciting speed and amazing comfort.
What is it?
The LightSheer DUET is a laser that produces a larger
beam of highly concentrated light.
How does it work?
The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located
in the hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser
pulses for a fraction of a second, allowing the hair to
absorb the light and heat up. As it heats up, the hair
shaft and bulb are damaged, which significantsly impedes
its ability to regrow.
Why is it better?
The LightSheer handpiece uses vacuum-assisted technology
to allow for rapid and comfortable treatment of large
areas, without the need for topical numbing creams. A
smaller handpiece allows for treatment of smaller areas.

What can you expect?
Laser hair removal does require multiple treatments. That is
because the laser works best when hairs are in an early growth
stage, and all the hairs are not in this phase as the same time.
INTENSE PULSE LIGHT
Intense Pulse Light (IPL™) technology
is a treatment that can correct a variety of skin conditions,
including signs of sun damage and photo-aging, rosacea, and
small veins and blemishes. It offers a safe, non-invasive solution
that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type,
producing notable cosmetic results via the mechanism of selective
photothermolysis. Dr. Keuer and Dr. Allen perform procedures
for IPL fotofacials / sun damage, hair removal, facial vessels
and telangiectasia (spider veins).
Photorejuvenation (Fotofacial) treatments
are generally administered in four to six sessions, depending
upon the condition treated. Photorejuvenation using IPL™ is non-invasive,
treating skin damage without disruption of the skin's surface.
You can return to work the same day and resume most regular activities.
The laser component of the VascuLight™ System is used to treat larger, deeper veins. A small spot of laser light travels through the skin and is absorbed by the vein. The resulting heat clots the blood and destroys that vessel, leading to its eventual absorption.
These treatments are generally not painful. The pulse of laser feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Chilled gel on the skin helps to prevent discomfort, and a topical anesthetic may also be recommended. A typical session lasts 15-30 minutes. There is no “down time” or recovery period, so regular activity may be resumed immediately after your treatment.
